The Australasian brand Baina launched back in 2019 and has built a loyal following for its mindful collection of towels. They come in beautiful colours and are generous in size, with a thick pile made from organic cotton. (We like them very much and can advise from experience that they last exceptionally well. We can also heartily recommend their pool towels.)
β
The brand has struck a unique selling point: the towels are warm and tactile, shunning the cold minimalism of bathrooms gone by. Theyβre design forward, but the brand is βseasonlessβ, deliberately releasing new colourways that complement their existing ones, and being careful about the quantities they make.
β
But while theyβve made the brandβs name producing towels, founders Bailey Meredith and Anna Fahey (the βBaiβ to the βnaβ) have always been more interested in the act of bathing than the act of drying off. βBathing is a deeply personal practice,β says Fahey, βan intentional return to self.β
β
With that in mind, Baina has now released Apothecary, a six-piece collection of bathing essentials including a bath milk, bath salts, body wash, body scrub and post-bath oil. Theyβre beautifully designed, as youβd expect, and they come in minimal β and recyclable β aluminium packaging.
β
The range draws on βphysiological, cognitive and somatic benefitsβ. Each product uses native plant extracts, mineral-rich clays, medicinal herbs and naturally derived active ingredients to nurture body and mind. Naturally, theyβre free from parabens, synthetic fragrance, phthalates, silicones, polyethylene glycols and sodium lauryl sulfates.
β
βBaina represents a reconnection to oneβs bathing routine, serving as a gentle reminder to take your time,β says Meredith. βWith Apothecary, we extend our role into the moments that begin and end each day.β
