Tell us a bit about your background.

I worked in the film industry in Korea before I came to New Zealand; now I’m a freelancer taking photos and videos in Auckland.

What’s the inspiration behind your online store?

I saw a growing demand for Korean products that are not easy to find here. People are always commenting on the products I’m wearing or using, and there are a lot of emerging Korean designers whose products I am keen to bring to New Zealand. For more personal reasons, the store connects me with Korea, New Zealand and my family. It fills gaps – things and people I had forgotten about since coming here.

What other projects are you working on?

I’m doing a collaboration of art prints called ‘Swim In The Sea’ with my sister, who studied sculpture and is now working as a graphic designer in Korea. This means a lot to me. I’m planning to collaborate with more artists from Korea, also hopefully some New Zealand artists, too.
